Public Mobile: How I saved 49% on my phone bill

We recently switched to Public Mobile [affiliated link] and saved 49% of my phone bill. Yes, you are reading this correctly. So far, I am happy with the change and did not have any issues during the process.

You might have not heard of Public Mobile, however, I am sure you’ve heard of Telus. Back in 2013, Telus acquired Public Mobile. If that’s the case, why didn’t you register your phone with Telus? In my opinion, there are two main differences:

  • Public Mobile is a low-cost provider and offers a BYOD plan. If you have any issues with your phone, you would have to figure it out yourself or use the online community
  • Public Mobile uses Telus’ 4G LTE network
